Kalu

When we asked Kalu the same question we asked all the other children – “What do you want to be when you grow up?”. He simply answered – “Ride the bus”.

Shweta, Vice President at Rays Home tells us his story;

“Kalu came to us from an orphanage in Ajmer. He was staying in a home for non-HIV positive children. He had bad health and after testing it was confirmed he was HIV positive. The orphanage contacted us shortly after. He has no one in his family & must be around 10 years old.”

Sadly Kalu’s HIV testing and treatment was too late. He contracted AIDS and struggled with everyday illnesses, passing away on December 8th, 2017.
RAYS Home for HIV Positive Children held a memorial for all the children, carers and staff to attend and is now held forever in our hearts.
