This is one of my favourite holidays! While I truly believe that expressing gratitude and counting our blessings daily is important… I love Thanksgiving for just that; the opportunity to give thanks with those who mean the most to us.
Here is a recipe to a ‘Conscious and Compassionate’ Thanksgiving:
1 part Family, Friends and loved ones!
1 part amazing, nourishing food
1 part gratitude- possible philanthropy.
1 part delicious Wine (optional)
Food!!! Here is a possible menu for Thanksgiving Feast:
Gratitude: Every family has their own traditions, but here are some from our family…
1. Before our meal we always go around the table and say what we are thankful for (kids too!)
2. Donate to your local food bank! Spread the Love and Share the Wealth
3. Invite ‘joiners’, I know it may seem awkward or uncomfortable to invite random people to share your meal but no one wants be eating alone this weekend and you never know what value they will add to your conversation/life
Wine: If you’re into that… With our (vegan) meal above, we suggest these pairings:
Sauvignon Blanc- Try Township 7 and/or
Cabernet Franc- Try Tinhorn Creek
and in case you are opting for a Free Range Turkey this weekend, try:
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Tribe of Lambs to all of you and yours! We are thankful for YOU and the amazing contributions and support you have made this last year. We are thankful that we have the ability to make a difference and the opportunity to impact the lives in developing countries. We are thankful for our amazing families- without whom we wouldn’t be growing this company.
