RASHMI

Name and nickname: Rashmi and Baby

Location: Jaipur

Born: 01 September

Occupation: Business woman

Describe yourself in 3 words: Lovable, Helpful and Compassionate.

What do you love about your life? My work, Rays and all the children.

How are you a member of the Tribe?  I think tribe and I are soulmates and we had to meet. I first met Bobbi at Rays and after that there was no looking back and thereafter have met the other members of the Tribe. I have been so touched by the thoughtfulness of the tribe to help the HIV positive children at Rays that I eagerly wait for their inspiring stories and share with my friends.

What do you love about the Tribe? Being a business woman I have met and interacted with lots of business houses and people but not one house till date as commited to the social causes as the Tribe of Lambs.

How is TOL impacting you? TOL has helped me run Rays in a much better way and improve the lives of the children at Rays not only by the financial contribution but more so by spending quality time with the children at both the homes.

Favourite life experience thus far? Starting Rays Aasha Ki Ek Kiran, a Positive Home for the children

What is your biggest dream in life? To move Rays to it’s own building and make Rays self reliant

Rashmi or “Badi Maa” as the children call her, is the other half who founded Rays Home for HIV Positive Children back in 2010. She is such an example to other successful, independent women who should be so inspired to give back in life with their successes – and in such a heart felt way. The children absolutely adore her, always respectfully addressing her but also bubbling up eagerly to share their latest news or listen to a story with Badi Maa. Rashmi, not only loves all the children at Rays, but she disciplines them strongly as any mother should. She teaches them the value of hard work, self worth & often reminds them that “all is well”. They turn to her in times of joy as they admire her kindness, and they turn to her in distress as they respond to her strength. Rashmi & Gurinder, along with their team, have worked incredibly hard for the children, while also minding their own families & responsibilities in life.  It is our blessing to have become connected with our soul family at Rays & work together in our mission for HIV Positive Children.
